Story

My name is Jordan, I’m from Stafford and I’m living inside the small glass box at Tesco in Stafford to raise more awareness of autism and help fundraise for Caudwell Children and the support they give to autistic children and their families across the Stafford area.

Being on the autistic spectrum myself, I know what living with the condition is like. I’m hoping my 50 hour ‘Locked in for Autism’ challenge will encourage more acceptance and understanding of the condition. Many families have said that the glass box acts as a metaphor for the condition – the isolation, communication difficulties and feeling of being trapped are all often associated with the condition.

I will enter the glass box at 12pm on Tuesday 21st April, and if successful I will leave 50 hours later at 2pm on Thursday 23rd April 2015.

I know my colleagues, friends and regular shoppers at Tesco in Stafford will support me (after all, I’ve worked there for 8 years!) and I’d love people who don’t even know me to come and say Hello!

You can donate in-store once the challenge starts, here on my justgiving page or by texting LIFA88 to 70070

Let’s do this!
