Story
Hey folks!
This is my fundraising page for the, some would say stupid, undertaking I am doing to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. I have decided to run a very small tincy wincy cross country Ultra Marathon along the coastal paths in Cornwall. It really is wee as Ultra's go, at 29 miles. However there is a bit of up and down with over 3000ft of climbing and another 3000ft of descending.
Why?? Well I lost my Mum last year to pancreatic cancer and I was blown away at just how outstanding the support from the Macmillan nurses we were lucky enough to get was. The care and information they provided to Mum, our wider family and especially our Dad was awesome. Therefore I want to do a little bit to help ensure there are funds available to provide the support Macmillan nurses provide to those who may badly need it in the future.
Meryl Baker (aka Mum) Died in October 2013. I will be running this challenge near the anniversary of her death. I thought it would be fitting to dedicate this adventure to a charity which I saw, first hand, make such a difference to Mum and all of us, both before and after her passing.
Thanks for reading.
