10,000ft. Skydive 'JumpforWater'

This April my team and I will be skydiving a massive 10,000ft. Yes. You read correctly. 10,000ft! That’s 3.7 times the height of Burj Dubai/Khalifa (The worlds tallest building)

 

There are many around the world living in poverty and living without basics, we are beyond lucky that we have food, clean water, good health care and a place to stay. Unfortunately many around the world have none of the above. We have open access to clean water, all we need to do is turn on a tap. Just imagine what a child in Africa has to do to get water!

 

884 million people lack access to clean and safe water worldwide, costing the lives of 5,000 children EVERY DAY. That's the equivalent to 1.62 million children EVERY YEAR, with one child dying EVERY 15 SECONDS

 

Did you know?

*  783 million people in the world do not have access to safe water 

*  1.8 MILLION CHILDREN DIE every year from diarrhoea caused by unclean water and poor sanitation. That’s 5,000 child deaths a day or one child every 15 seconds. (UNICEF)

* The water and sanitation crisis claims more lives through disease than any war claims through guns. (UNDHP)

* Nearly 1 out of every 5 deaths under the age of 5 worldwide is due to a water-related disease.

 

Our skydiving team hopes to raise funds for wells, water purifiers and ORT treatment in many areas across Africa. Our target is to raise £20,000 and you can help us reach our target. ________________________________________________________
