My story

 

Thank you so much for reading my story.  I would be so grateful if you could help me to help others...

I always said I would not participate in a sponsored 'healthy eating' event- but the time is now..

Working in the health sector for many years has made us realise the importance of being as healthy as you possibly can.  I also love joining in and sharing good times and good food with family and friends.

I need an incentive to help me with my personal goal and I would be delighted to raise some funds too.  I would like to  donate any monies to The KCH Limb Reconstruction Trust  www.klrt.org.

This newly established charity helps all ages who have experienced or are undergoing limb reconstruction treatment at King's College Hospital.  I share in the good work that goes on as voluntary Clerk to the Trust and any monies raised will go towards the next item on our 'wish list'.  The trustees and volunteers whom I know really well are a really lovely team of people and work extremely hard to meet the needs of the patients, parents and families. They have also supported me in my new career and my hobby of candle making.

I helped to organise places for us in the London Marathon for 2011 and felt sad that I could not join in to help them.  I would not be able to run one mile let alone 26!  I plan to lose weight and start the 2011 London Marathon, obviously I will not be able to complete the course but the target is to lose eight stone with healthy eating and exercise by April 2011 (just under two years) from my start date of today, 1 July 2009 and go as far as I can, bearing in mind I have not really run before!

Thank you so much for listening and I shall keep the page updated with progress - negative and positive!  I am being weighed professionally this week to gain a starting weight and have a Wii Fit, a heart monitor watch and lots of good support!
