The other day, my friend Freddie Elwes, asked me if I would walk along Hadrian’s Wall, with him for charity.  As geography was never my strong point I failed twice. I thought an easy walk, and agreed to keep him company on his challenge! Little did I realize that it is 84 miles of hardcore walking!! So I have taken on the challenge and decided to join him in aid of the Cancer Vaccine Institute, which was set up by Professor Angus Dalgleish, in aid of my late mother. Please give generously and look at their web site, www. cancervaccine.org.uk. The Cancer Vaccine Institute funds the research team at St George's University of London.  The only national charity in the UK exclusively funding research to fight cancer with vaccines and immune therapies.  They are determined to develop a better treatment for cancer to help patients live longer with a better quality of life.

I, who  faint at the sight of a hill, and hid behind the bike shed throughout my games career at school smoking, am going to try and walk as far as I can...... we are not stopping for the night, which I was led to believe we would........and we are going to try and do the whole 84 miles non stop and walk day and night and probably day and night again!  I am basically going to walk until I drop and I am going to try and do at least 50 to 60 miles and obviously try my hardest at the 84 miles....I am going to give it my best shot...so would you please sponsor me.....for trying and I will try very hard......I am training as much as I can do with 3 children!! but so far 20 miles has been my best effort. The walk is on Saturday 11th June all being well lets hope we have good weather conditions, especially so we can see through the night!! Total madness poor Paul is my support team and he no doubt will have to come and rescue me at 4 am when I can do no more......but you never know until you try!!!  ( Yikes )all a bit scary....I have told Freddie that as I am keeping him company on his challenge, he must accompany me on my challenge of swimming the Channel!! He told me to f off, I should have done the same to him!! Anyway I will let you know how we get on ...... ...lots of love Kate xx and please give generously xx
