Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for The British Kidney Patient Association. On Sunday 11 October, I'm taking part in the EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon and I'm hoping to raise money in memory of my friend Jon Wing, who sadly passed away on 21 July 2009.
Living with kidney disease, can be mentally and physically demanding and patients have to cope with changes in their health, numerous hospital visits and the effects on work and family life. The British Kidney Patient Association works to improve the quality of life for adults and children with kidney disease;
- providing valuable information and support to patients and families;
- giving grants to help cover the costs of domestic bills, hospital travel, education and holidays; and
- providing much needed financial support to kidney units throughout the UK working to improve kidney services and patient care.
- Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
While I can't promise a recording breaking time when I run the half marathon, I intend to finish with a smile on my face and knowing that we've raised some much needed money for Jon's charity of choice will be the main reason why, so please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you x
