Shooting Star Children's Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, we are here to make every moment count.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So, after years of chat I have decided I should do the London Marathon, after all I'm not getting any younger and I figure my first (and hopefully last marathon) at 40 would be a great achievement.

I'm raising money for the Chase Hospice Care for Children, a fantastic cause which gives support and care to children and families where the child will not reach the age of 19, an unbearable thought to anyone of us that have children.  The Hospice is a lifeline for these families and receives almost no government funding.  They rely heavily on our donations to continue their valuable work so please consider supporting me on behalf of this worthwhile charity.  I visited the Hospice last week and they really do a fantastic job of caring for families with terminally ill children, rather than being a sad place it was very inspirational and uplifting.

The thought of helping these families is fantastic motivation for my training; knowing that familes with desperately ill children will benefit from the money raised.

A huge thank you in advance for your support.

Kate.
