As I pound the pavements in an attempt to run the London Marathon, laugh and be glad that it isn't you!
There's a long way i've got to go before the 25th April, but we all have to start somewhere...It'll be hard and it'll be cold, but knowing that it's for such a great purpose, I'm sure that I'll see the point of those dreary Monday morning dates with the road.
I'll be running for the Jesuit Missions, who provide life-saving and crucial aid-work in some of the poorest countries in the third world.
The Jesuits strive to combat the basic symptoms of poverty in over forty countries worldwide (including Zimbabwe, Guyana and Nigeria) by building better healthcare systems, providing food and water during shortages and famine, and encouraging economic stability by establishing better education system within deprived communities around the world.
Any amount is greatly appreciated...it really will make all those painful hours on the Common so much more worth it.
Of course... other types of support are equally welcome - any tips/words of encouragement/cheering supporters with magnums of champagne waiting at the finish line would be fabulous!
Thank you all so much, you beautiful people :)
