Hello me again....

I've not bothered you all for five years... it's gone so quickly..!!  How are we all..?? 

My first Race for Life in 2006 was for Mum and to acknowledge her fight against breast cancer the year before.  She's a stubborn bugger and would not let the disease get her down despite having invasive surgery, reconstructive surgery and a bout of Radiotherapy.

I first thought about joining up again for this year about six weeks ago.  I thought it would be quite apt as it will be coming up to the tenth anniversary of when Mum found a lump.  I thought it might be quite a laugh(!) to shave my head too as it was also ten years ago since I did something similar to raise money.  All very nice.  Lovely I thought.  High five.

Literally the day after I had concocted the above plan my Mum casually mentioned that she'd been back to the hospital the week before.  It was back.  Now like I mentioned before, she's a stubborn bugger and has no time at all for this bloody disease... especially as the operation looked set to disrupt a lovely weekend away she had planned (she has her priorities right...)  Thankfully....thankfully.... AGAIN...she is one of the fortunate ones and despite needing Radiotherapy all seems well.  Results show that the cancer was caught before it spread and we can all breathe again.

We all have stories like this, a mother, a sister, an auntie, a friend.  I've had enough quite frankly.  The more money we raise, the sooner we find a cure.  PLEASE...Please dig deep and sponsor me online - it's quick, easy and totally secure.
