Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Here's our story for those of you who don't already know it. Back in Oct 07 our little brother Richard, aged 13, woke up with an excruitating head ache. After not keeping down a paracetamol, he was taken to hospital where they discovered that he had had a brain haemorrhage. His condition deteriorated rapidly and he was flown by helicopter to the John Radcliff Hospital in Oxford, where he was taken straight into surgery for a life saving operation, relieving the pressure build-up in his head. The bleed was then stopped in a second operation and a speedy and almost full recovery followed. The damaged he suffered is minimal due to speed of which the Air Ambulance got Richard to medical experts in Oxford. It took only 11 minutes where an ordinary road ambulance would have taken 40! The Air Ambulance is a charity run organisation which receives no funding from the government, NHS or National Lottery to meet its £1.7m annual running cost.
Lizzie and I have decided to run the great north run in order to raise money for the Air Ambulance. Neither of us are long distance runners but we have been doing some training in the run up to it (get it). It should be a very interesting day. So please donate as much as you can, it means a lot to us and our family and the air ambulance really does save a lot of lives.
