Hello out there,
Thanks for finding my page and having a look around.
With my beautiful assistants Adam and Tom, I'll be hitch-hiking my way across Europe in April - through France, Germany and finally the Czech Republic to reach my destination of Prague. That's an average of four days and seven hundred miles!
All money raised will be going to the very awesome charity Link Community Development, who work to ensure children have access to quality education across sub-Saharan Africa. This involves building new schools, improving existing schools and encouraging the community to help out. So you know any money you donate is going to a fab cause!
So, if you want to support schools in Africa or just laugh at me as I do something stupid for charity, your donation would be very much appreciated.
Thanks again :-)
The Fundraising Timeline so far;
22/01/10 - Kathryn signed up for the hitch and panicked about her passport. Recieved first donation (from her Dad; rock 'n' roll!)
24/01/10 - Kathryn was joined by Adam as a registered hitcher. I'm sure he'd appreciate it if you rooted for him, too.
27/01/10 - Tom signed up, completing our wonderful hitching group!
18/02/10 - Fundraising more or less officially started for the team. Bake sales are set up, passports arrive and Kathryn starts planning her packed lunches for the hitch waaay too far in advance.
21/02/10 - Tickets are booked from Prague to Birmingham for the 14th of April. Adam is suspicious; Ryanair's prices seem too good to be true...
05/03/10 - The team attends a health and safety meeting and decide to probably bring a tent to cut back on costs. Adam buys a travel towel with monkeys on it. Further things that need to be considered - further fundraising, buying a better tent, team name...
~25/03/10 - The team aqcuires a tent and army gear to keep them warm at night. Only a week to go!
