OK, so I have started going out with the St Andrew's Sunday Runners again. And OK, so I might have lost just a bit of form since little Huw made his entrance into the world...
In fact - are these the same legs?
The same lungs?!
I have decided the time has come to lose the baby weight so I can enjoy my runs once more. The prospect was altogether very boring, really, but then came a happy coincidence. We are hoping to form a link with a church community in Zimbabwe, a community with no resources, who walk miles into the country to meet, who are under fear of police raids and whose members struggle with finding food for their families. I can't wait to 'meet' some of these people and send them tokens of my friendship, things that could really help.
I reckon that losing 35lb will take me back to my old marathon running weight and have me keeping up once more with the Sunday Runners' pace. I am suggesting that people pledge me a pound for each pound (it will be slow, don't worry!) or whatever they can afford.
And if I find anyone who's sponsored me offering me cake at all - I know your little game!

Update: 2 stone down - nearly there!
We have raised £145 to add to the £500 from St Andrew's and £90 from Tracy's cake-baking. This is going to buy 22 children's bibles in their native tongue, Shona, for the church's orphans. Thank you! :-)
