Thank you for visiting my page!
As part of my DUCK (Durham University Charities Kommittee) trip to Thailand this summer I will spend three weeks teaching Burmese migrant children in the town of Mae Sot.
There are currently 30,000 school age migrant children living in displaced and impoverished communities on the Thai/Burmese border. Having left Burma, these migrant children are considered to be illegal immigrants and receive no education from the Thai authorities. Their only chance of an education is therefore through schools run by charitable organisations.
I am raising money for Baan Romjit (reg. charity no. 1114154), a British based charity with exceptional links in Thailand which was set up after the Tsunami in 2004 for the provision of humanitarian relief. All funds raised will go towards building a new school for migrant children as well as supporting the day-to-day running of existing schools.
The money donated via this JustGiving page will go directly to benefit Baan Romjit and give the migrant children a better quality of education.
I really hope you agree that this cause is worthwhile, and can spare some loose change for charity.
If you have any questions please feel free to get in touch,
Thankyou!!!!
