A while ago I wrote a list of '50 things I want to do before I die'. One of those things was a parachute jump. So when I found out that the Chuch Mission Society (CMS) based in were arranging a charity fundraising jump I knew there was a parachute with my name on it!
A number of my friends work at CMS - a chrisitan charity that supports evangelistic mission in over 50 countries. The society began in 1799 and founding members included William Wilberforce. The founding members were committed to three great entreprises: abolition of the slave trade, social reform at home and telling the world the good news about Jesus Christ. Nowadays CMS's work involves teaching and nurturing new Christians, seeking to change unjust structures in society, caring for creation and the environment, telling people about Jesus Christ and responding to human need on a practical level.
Please give generously to this really worthwhile charity and I hope by the end of it, I will still be able to do another 49 things on my list!
