My story
We are hoping to finish the World's longest continuous kayak race in April 2012. The race is called the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Marathon and is 125 miles long with 77 portages where you get out and carry the boat for over 13 miles on foot.
We're raising money for Children's Brain Tumour Research who do great work helping kids and parents at the main hosptial in Nottingham. They are helping worldwide efforts to find better treatments, diagnose the disease earlier and help families during and, hopefully, after treatment.
Your donation will help them on a range of projects that can be seen at http://www.cbtrc.org/cbtrc/index.aspx.
My updates 1
We finished the DW in 30.5 hours! Unbelievably hard. The last 15 hours were a nightmare. 111 teams finished and 44 didn't complete the course. a huge thanks to everyone who donated to this great course.
My charity
University of Nottingham - Children's Brain Tumour Research
Charity Registration No. exempt
The University of Nottingham set up the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre in 1997 in response to the fact childhood tumours do not receive major research funds. The Centre has now begun a research programme to find out more about these fatal tumours so that far less damaging treatments can be developed.
