On the 21st of November, a mass of over excitable individuals will descend deep into the Malaysian Borneo for a five day, jungle adventure race. The Kinabalu Challenge attracts 15 teams from around the UK, to compete in mountain biking, running, white water rafting and kayaking. The finish line sits atop of Mt Kinabalu, the highest peak in South East Asia.
Me and three rather eager friends have decided to enter and try and raise some money for Cancer Research UK. Everybody knows someone who has suffered from this awful disease, yet somehow it still manages to spring up when no one expects it. Yes we'll be able to say that we've completed our hardest race yet and yes, we'll have good banter along the way but we'll only reach that summit knowing that we'll be raising much needed funds for our chosen charity.
We'll be driven on in the knowledge that through us, you too have given all you can to support this worthy cause during our adventure. Whilst we can finish at the top of a mountain, our beneficiaries still have a huge mountain to climb.
If you can, please dig deep as every penny you donate will go straight to Cancer Research UK and support my team. We'll be dragging our exercise bikes into the sauna to 'acclimatise'. Ughhh!
Many many thanks
