Thanks for taking the time ot visit my Fund Raising Page. I completed the 10k run on Sunday 10th July - it was a hilly course but I still managed it in 52mins15secs.
You can still make a donation if you would like to support my efforts to raise funds for the NRAS.
This year I am asking for your support in a 10k Run being held at Hughenden Manor nr High Wycombe which has been organised to help NRAS; the National Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) Society. Around 690,000 people in UK suffer from RA and 12,000 of these are under 16 years of age – so it is NOT just an ‘old age problem’, as many people think.
My eldest son, Peter 15, has suffered with RA since he was 4 years old and as a family, we have learned to live with his regular treatment and the drugs which keep the condition under control. However the exact causes of the disease are still not fully understood, so the treatment is primarily about controlling the symptoms of RA and minimising damage to the affected joints. If you want to learn more about RA, visit this link:- http://www.nras.org.uk/about_rheumatoid_arthritis/default.aspx
So, on 10 July I will be using my old, but fully functioning, muscles and joints to shift my heavy body up and down the hilly course at Hughenden Manor. It will really help me to keep running IF you could please take the trouble to sponsor my effort through this webpage and also tick the ‘Gift Aid’ box to increase the value of your gift. For anybody who wants to join-in, you can enter the race here:- http://www.purplepatchrunning.com/races/hughenden-manor-10k-
So please dig deep and donate now to support the Charity NRAS.
Cheers! Keith (Fred) Freegard
