On September 17/18, in the company of about 100 hundred other mad people, I will be attempting to cycle 200 miles in 2 days, from the Houses of Parliament to Bruges in Belgium.

The ride is organised by "Ordinary to Extraordinary", a totally voluntary children's charity, set up in 2006, with it's main objective being to make a difference to the lives of needy, seriously and terminally ill children.  In 2009, the charity's main beneficiaries are "Demelza", a children's hospice in London that does an incredible job for children in the last weeks and days of life, and "Get Kid's Going", acharity that encourages and supports disabled children to get involved in all levels of sport.

All participants in this ride pay their own expenses, so every £1 raised goes direct to the charities involved - nothing is deducted for adminisration or event costs.

I was persauded into this over a nice dinner and the odd glass of red wine, which seemed a great idea at the time, then the training begun, I now realise you can never do enough training, so Bruges here I come.
