Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you will know, my Uncle - Alan - died on 15th August 2009 having battled a brain tumour for many months. I am running the Adidas Women's 5K on September 6th 2009 and thought it would be a fitting tribute to raise money in his memory and to support those who cared for him. Over the past few months, Alan and Lynda received great support and care from all those at St. Wilfrid's Hospice, so my aim is to raise as much money as possible to support the hospice in its work.
St Wilfrid’s Hospice was founded over 25 years ago to provide skilled and compassionate care for people over 18 with life-limiting illnesses. Services currently include a 10-bed In-Patient unit, a Day Therapy Clinic, Hospice at Home care, bereavement counselling, complementary therapies and a specialist lymphoedema clinic. All care is given free of charge regardless of patients’ circumstances, with the NHS contributing only 15% of the £3.4 million annual running costs. For the remainder, the hospice relies on the generosity of its supporters, so please dig deep and donate now!
