Hi lovely people!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and welcome. Many of you may have been lucky enough to have known and remember the very talented and beautiful Jo Butler, who unfortunately passed away on 9/5/04 from the muscle heart condition, cardiomyopathy, at the very young age of 32. I had the privilege of working as Jo's assistant at Perran Sands Holiday Park in 2001, where I had the time of my life and made some great friends, one of whom was Jo.
Jo's family and friends have done a great deal of fundraising for the Cardiomyopathy Association, who are a fantastic charity, offering crucial support to families affected by this condition. They do some amazing work and this is my contribution. They are a small charity who need to continuously raise money in order to deliver their superb projects - every penny raised really does count and make a difference!
Ok, so here is the deal. I am not a natural runner, but I am giving this my best shot! I completed my first half marathon in Oct 2009 and LOVED IT, so I make you this promise....
I PROMISE that whilst you are laying in bed on sunday mornings watching the Hollyoaks Omnibus I will be out there pounding the streets come snow, sleet, or shine! So, whilst you are tucking into your full english breakfast, reading the morning newspapers, spare a thought for little old me and my Ipod desperately trying to seek out new and interesting routes around Peterborough!
So, that is my side to the bargain.............. your side is simple....... PLEASE SPONSOR ME on this crazy crazy challenge I have set myself!! It doesn't matter how much or how little, I just need to memorise your comments of support and know that I have raised some much needed funds as I run 26.2 MILES around the streets of London one cold Sunday morning in April!
Thank you all..... check out my blog below for updates over the next 11 weeks!
