My story

Abigail was and always will be a shining star, and a very giving child. She died on 10th February 2013 following a sudden brain haemorrhage. Abi was such a wonderful young person... fit, healthy, intelligent, with an infectious enthusiasm for life. She was a keen learner, an excellent swimmer, a dedicated martial artist too, having achieved her black belt just two weeks before her death. She was also a great big sister to her siblings, Jenny and Joe, and had a wide network of lovely friends.

At her death, she donated her organs to help save the lives of four other people. An amazing achievement in itself that we know she would think was very 'cool'! She was always thinking of others' wellbeing. She was even baking and selling cookies for Comic Relief a few days before her death. We know that she would love to raise money for charity and having seen the value of the work done at the Bristol Children's Hospital, we know that this is the right cause. The funds raised by the Wallace & Grommit Appeal (http://www.grandappeal.org.uk/) directly funds vital developments at the hospital and the equipment in the intensive care unit, which Abigail needed. While it didn't save her life, despite every effort and care by the amazing team of nurses, doctors and consultants, it gave us a few precious days to sit with her and tell her how much we love her. We know the staff at the hospital would be hugely grateful for any donation given.

This page will be for all donations no matter how small. Please don't feel obliged but we know that many people will want to do 'something for her. We hope never to need the hospital again in such tragic circumstances, but we are so thankful for what they do every single day with genuine love and care for both sick children and their families.

Thank you from Mark, Kelly, Abigail, Jennifer and Joe xxxxx
