Story
Welcome; I would much prefer to talk to each of you but this is possible for just a few of the people I know. I do hope however you can support me and Macmillan in this little fund raising adventure....my first, and I promise not to make a nuisance of myself.
Why Macmillan....its quite simple, my mother died from cancer in 1973 and I will never forget her final few weeks at home and the death she endured. We had no support or care of the type provided by MacMillan. So I want to help others in similar circumstances. It's that simple...almost!
Each year my Rotary Club holds a charity walk - we call it the Rotary Ramble. Its rasies money for good causes, nearly £12,000 last year. 75% of what is rasied is kept by the Clubs partcipating for their own charity or club needs. The other 25% goes to Rotary (our Trust Fund a/c). This year we will supporting MacMillan to and retaining some for other charitable giving.
My Club has not yet Registered its Trust fund (Charity) a/c with Just Giving...so this year I am raising money directly for Macmillan - all of it. It will also demonstrate that Online Giving is a very productive way of raising funds.
So please do suport me. On Sunday 19th September I will make my way round the 7 miles of the Rotary Ramble near Perranuthnoe over looking Mounts Bay, Cornwall and complete my fund raising - hopefully a £1000 for Macmillan Cancer Care.
