Thank you so much for firstly taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
As some of you will already know Kerrie and Paul are attempting to climb Mt Kilimanjaro, reaching the summit at dawn on 1st January 2010!!
This is an amazing challenge for us to undertake and we are planning on giving it our everything!
As we are putting ourselves through this... we're asking for a little from you too :)
We have picked ACE Africa as our chosen charity to raise money for. ACE Africa is a relatively new charity, established in 2005 in order to better the lives of orphans, vulnerable children, people living with AIDS and their families in impoverished rural communities in Kenya and Tanzania, where 60% live on less than a dollar a day.
Our target is £500 and we asked the UK Director how your money could be used....
£ 1.00 pays for a mosquito net
£ 1.00 provides seeds to feed an orphan with nutritious vegetables for a year
£ 2.00 provides a tin of jiggers treatment that will treat 20 Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC)
£ 2.50 provides 2 kgs of nutritional supplements
£ 3.50 provides a school uniform
£ 4.00 provides a blanket
£ 5.00 provides a PLWA with medicine for a month
£ 100 pays for seeds for community and individual gardens that will feed 100 OVC
regularly through the development of the seed bank
£ 350.00 will rebuild a family’s home
