Well I've done it! Very windy day but an incredible atmosphere. I've never done one of these Mass participation sports events before - 21,000 doing it - wow! Apparently I came about 12,000...
Thanks again for sponsoring me!
Here was the pre race story:
In an attempt to help me lose my post baby weight ( that is Nia aswell aswell Cara) David bought me an entry for my Mothers Day present ( flowers will do next time DJ).
Now although I was fit ,say, 6 years ago, when I started running 4 months ago 10 minutes was a real struggle. I am still only up to 7 miles but I've got a couple of weeks to go!
Please donate generously it will be an extra motivation when I feel like collapsing.
Having worked extensively with TB patients both in my time in Swaziland (which has the highest TB rate in the world) and previously in South Africa, I am all too aware of the number of lives that are lost to this devasting disease - when simple implementation of casefinding, good nutrition, infection control and consistent treatment could be saving lives. I cannot believe still that our only option was to put up tents so highly infectious patients didn't infect their family.
TB Alert helps similar projects in Africa and in the UK. (TB in the UK often affects the poorest in our society).
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you again,
Best Wishes,
Kerry
