My story
KEVIN & DAVE’S ‘MORGANATHON’ 2000 MILES
This appeal is in aid of the Woking and Sam Beare Hospice to help fund their incredible work supporting terminally ill patients and their Carers. It is also in memory of Elsie Laing who spent her last days at the Woking Hospice in their loving and dedicated care.
Elsie was the mother of our friend Erica Crouse, who together with her husband Alan, have been full of praise for the incredibly sensitive support and care given by the staff and Macmillan nurses who attended Elsie. They were also very impressed by the understanding that was extended to visiting family members. The support offered by the Hospice also extends to bereavement counselling and I have other friends who have benefited from this. The overall standards achieved at the Hospice are to the highest professional level which is such a credit to this dedicated team.
In considering a fund raising event I decided to drive my Morgan up and down the United Kingdom on a 2000 mile journey from Woking to John O’Groats, then down to Lands End on A and B roads and then the final leg, back to Woking .
Our target is to raise £10K for the Woking and Sam Beare Hospices.
We are covering our costs so all money donated benefits the Hospice.

Thanks to Geoff for buying a fab picture of Concorde on her last flight.
We sold a picture on Saturday night at the silent auction and picked up the cheque today. Thanks to Ben for bidding for it. This takes us to 102% of target. Hooray
After another amazing night, the Wonderyears concert raised £902.65. This takes us through our target 0f £10K. We have 101% at £10,179. A big thank you to the Wonderyears and St Judes Players. They both provide there services for free. Thanks to all who have supported us.
Victor Kindly donated a new sofa to the Hospice in my name and it raised £150. Many thanks. We are getting there. Last event is Wonderyears Concert tomorrow.

Woking Hospice provides care for terminally ill patients and their families residing in West Surrey. The Hospice provides a quiet, comfortable oasis for people aged 18 and over who have a life limiting illness. Our facilities include individual en-suite rooms, day care service, counselling, chaplaincy and a range of complimentary therapies.
