Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, it's less than 1 week to go now!
On the 25th June this year Danz and Bex Orchard, Chris Candfield and me Aimee Jackson will be attempting to climb the highest freestanding mountain in the world, to raise money for the RNIB!
Mt Kilimanjaro "The Roof of Africa" rises to 5895m at the Uhuru Peak, reaching this is no mean feat and despite the record being around 5hrs 30mins it will take this team of novice hikers 5 days to reach the summit! Our challenge takes us along the beautiful Machame Route that approaches Kili from the south through dense tropical rainforest and all the way up to the snow capped summit, covering approximately 100km in total.
We are here today to ask for your kind donations in support of our chosen charity, the Royal National Institute of Blind People. The RNIB have been supporting our Grandma since she was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration a few years ago and, given that every day another 100 people will start to lose their sight, we feel it is a very worthy cause!
Many of you have already pledged donations in support of our challenge and we are now calling in those pledges! On a personal note, Chubb Insurance will be matching all donations from my Chubb colleagues, so I would ask that either you show your name with your donation on the site, or, if you would prefer to keep your donation private, please email me on ajackson@chubb.com to confirm the date and amount of your donation. We are individually funding the cost of the trip, so 100% of your donations will be going direct to the RNIB to support the amazing work that they do.
Eternally grateful, Aimee, Danz, Bex and Chris xx
