Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.
I (Ian McLaughlin) am an Old Actonian who has had close ties with the Samson Centre over the last few years. John Hambley was skipper at Old Actonians and when he mentioned the challenge of providing a facility for helping MS sufferers, many Old Actonians jumped at the challenge and continue to do so to help this worthy cause. This is an ongoing battle to fund this organisation and keep the centre running to the benefit of many MS sufferers and their families in the West Surrey area.
I am celebrating my 50th birthday in this unusual way and when I approached friends to suggest this would be a good idea, reactions were many and varied. Most thought of me mad, but perseverance has paid off in getting this group together. We are a group of 10 normal people who have chosen to climb up Kilimanjaro in February 2008.
One of the biggest challenges for each of us will be dealing with the altitude. Altitude sickness, like MS, is indiscriminate in who it hits and there is a good chance that not all of us will make it to the top. We are asking you to sponsor our attempt and in doing so support the Samson Centre.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Samson Centre will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
