Story

Well then...It appears this really is happening. The Kim show is hitting the streets of London (hopefully not literally) as I run 26.2 miles in the 2012 London Marathon for the PKD Charity.

Now, here comes the X Factor sob story.

Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)

This disease is not particularly well known, unless you are lucky enough to have been my friend for a long time in which case you've probably been dragged along to a number of different fundraising events. PKD is, however "the world's most common inherited life-threatening condition", and is a disease that both myself and my sister Rebecca inherited from our mum. I know it's a little boring but please do look at the website below and read some more about it, because this is ultimately what I want you to give your well earned cash to (it's not a link to an ebay shop for One Direction tickets I promise)

http://www.pkdcharity.co.uk/polycystic-kidney-disease.html

In 2002 our mum, Mrs. Geraldine Murphy (Gez), passed away leaving behind a lot of people that loved her, including my dad, my 2 sisters and my brother. Now anyone that had the pleasure of meeting Gez knows that a. She was the most beautifully ladylike and glamorous woman you could ever meet, and b. She was not a lady that would run a marathon. Gez was all about a two hour stint of reflexology rather than putting her feet anywhere near a pair of trainers. Personally I'm not really all about the glamour unfortunately, but I am aware that I am one of the most unlikely people to ever do something like this *see title picture for evidence*. Over the years Rebecca has used her ridiculously savvy brain to raise a massive amount of money for PKD. This savvy brain was sadly not inherited by myself, and so I have a lot of making up to do, and so this is how I'm going to do it...by running further than I have ever run in my entire life.

This really is a massive test for me, and poor Kayleigh who I live with and has to put up with me banging on about it the whole time, but I SO want to do it and I PROMISE I'll put my heart and soul into it and do you all proud. I don't expect hundreds, and I'm certainly not aiming for any kind of target, but if you can just give something I (and everyone at the PKD Charity) will hugely appreciate it.

Thankyou for taking the time to have a look at my page. You're all great...
