Hey all.
Most of you know I've been in and out of hospital most of my life and now I'm fit and healthy (touch wood) I can give something back to those who helped me. Radio lollipop is a station operating in various children's hospitals in the UK, American, Australia and New Zealand. As a Radio Lollipop volunteer I circulate wards (at the Edinburgh Royal Hospital for Sick Children) playing with and chatting with kids, asking them if they have any song requests and generally making their time in hospital a bit more bearable. A sick kid doesn't want to constantly be reminded of their ailments, and I found through personal experience that interaction and play can act as a great therapy.
Our first task as Radio Lollipop volunteers is to raise some money for the charity, and I've had the bright idea of dressing up in a lion suit and leaping about for a day. I'll be wandering around George Square/ Princes St area on the 10th December. I've set a target of £100 but aim to make as much as possible. Any donation would be very appreciated, and would go towards putting a smile on some kids faces!
