Raising money for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of blind and partially sighted people never leave home alone. Guide Dogs empowers visually impaired people to do that and relies totally on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service. We breed and train guide dogs which provide life changing mobility and there are currently 4,500 working guide dog partnerships in the UK. The full lifetime cost of a guide dog from birth to retirement is £48,500. We will not rest until blind and partially sighted people can enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else. On Saturday 3rd October, weather permitting a team of Northern Irish kitesurfers are facing their greatest challenge. To cross the Irish Sea. The team will set aside all the weekends in October 2009, so that all the conditions will be right for the riders to launch from Ballywalter in Northern Ireland to KiteSurf 24 miles to Portlogan in Scotland. Purpose, to help raise funds for local charities.

We are supporting the below four charities and have set up separate donation pages, to allow individual choices to be made. If however you want to support the Kite Challenge but have no specific charity preference please split your donations across all four charities.
