My story

Simply Knitting and The Knitter are supporting Refuge again in 2012 with their Bears and Squares campaign!

This year, we’re asking everyone to continue supporting this worthwhile cause, and this time, the focus is on the children staying at Refuge’s ‘safe houses’. Could you knit a teddy for a child to cuddle, or make a cot blanket to help a little one feel cosy. The patterns to knit these are available to download on the Simply Knitting and The Knitter blogs in return for a suggested minimum donation of £5. Click to be taken through to the blog post.

Join us to support Refuge and knit items that will bring a smile to children experiencing the effects domestic violence and raise £10000 to support Refuge with their vital work. We were delighted and amazed by the support our readers gave our charity campaign in 2011. Together, we raised more than £2000 and donated 850 knitted blankets to Refuge, a charity which helps women and families experiencing domestic violence to rebuild their lives.
