Funds raised by Cycle China will support women scientists and clinicians to specialise in research affecting women and their babies - a subject close to the heart of many people in the UK. Cancer, Infertility, genetic diseases and brain damage have affected so many people and families worldwide and funds raised through charity events such as Cycle China enable this Vital research to continue.

This challenge will be no walk in the park for me or for the many others taking part and will certainly be no holiday. I have to raise a minimum sponsorship in order to take part (challenge 1), I have to train seriously in order to become fit enough (challenge 2) and I then have to complete the Cycle - a 450km ride to be completed in 5 days (challenge 3). As I said earlier it's certainly no walk in the park, however I am determined to raise the funds and complete the challenge in order to further aid this charity.

Female Cancer is an issue close to my heart - especially in young people and I am delighted to be given the chance to support such a fantastic charity such as Women for Women.

I'm also taking part in the Castle of Mey 10k run in May 2010.  I am a featured runner for this event which means that all my progress in training for the event can be followed online on the Castle of Mey website and in the local paper. All sponsorship for this run and any future runs in 2010 will go toward the Cycle China 2011 event.
