Lee Jenkins wanted to combine a personal challenge with raising funds for, and awareness of, Fragile X, as one of her grandsons has this syndrome.  Work colleagues and family pledged to join in, and so The LowTax Group Half Marathon Team was born.

Very few people are aware of Fragile X, but it is not as rare as you would imagine, although mis-diagnosis is common. 

The Fragile X Society:

*provide support and information to fragile X families from those  who share and understand their concerns and needs

*educate and inform the public and professionals about fragile X in order to raise awareness and understanding of the syndrome and so improve the care of all people affected by fragile X

*encourage research into all aspects of fragile X and publicise the results
