Facing the World is caring for Landina Seignon, a ten month old Haitian baby under the Facing the World programme in the UK.
We have formed the Friends of Landina Committee to fundraise and look after the long term needs for Landina and her family.
Landina was in hospital after suffering a severe burn at 4 weeks old when the hospital collapsed in the Earthquake. She was pulled from the rubble 2 days later. Her mangled
right arm had to be amputated. But she almost lost much more than that -
her mother was missing, presumed dead.
Landina received the lifesaving treatment that she needed at Great Ormond Street and Chelsea & Westminster Hospitals in London. For more information see the Channel 4 website.
Doctors are very pleased with her progress and we hope are confident she will make a full recovery. Landina will need at least 2-3 months more of medical care in the UK before she is able to return home. Her injuries are unique and still not stable.

Landina and her mother bonded well, and Facing the World, and the Friends of Landina are fundraising for Landinaand are working hard to ensure that the Seignon family have a safe and stable future.
Obviously, in addition to covering Landina's immediate hospital costs,
she will need long term support, both for surgery later in life, for her
prosthetics and to secure her a long term, safe and secure home.

travel and living costs during her stay in the UK and secure her and her families long
