On May 20 seven of us will undertake the notorious John O’Groats to Lands End bike ride.
We’ll be undertaking a route of 879 miles, over 10 fairly gruelling days. We’re riding not only to improve our own declining fitness levels but also to support two major charities which we believe represent two great causes.
Our main aim is to raise £3,000 to pay for a wheelchair that will enable someone to take part in competitive wheelchair bound sport. The recipient of this donation will have recently become paralysed in some form and competitive sport is one way in which they can resume an active life.
WheelPower gives disabled people a life changing opportunity to lead active lives through competitive sport. Wheelchair sport proves to people that being wheelchair bound doesn’t have hamper or restrict the levels at which they can compete with others and resume an active life.

All of us taking part in this challenge have taken part in competitive sport and one person in particular has suffered a serious spinal injury that nearly resulted in being left paralysed. Therefore due to the nature of the challenge we feel that this charity is ideal.
If we fulfil our target, all additional funds will be donated to the Air Ambulance Association. The Air Ambulance is not state funded, however it plays a vital role in saving lives every day across the UK, often helping people in remote areas access urgent medical attention.
Thanks for reading and a donation of any amount would be greatly received!
Chris, Dan, James, Mike, Rob, Rupert and Will.
