On Sunday 25th April 2010, I will be testing my physical, mental and emotional strength by taking part in the Virgin London Marathon. I have chosen to run for Raft (Restoration of Appearance and Function Trust), a charity which is pioneering medical research into improved treatments for burns, wounds and other skin traumas.

As I tackle a 'rigorous' training schedule over the coming months and clock up the miles despite blisters, black toenails and chafing, please remind me of the immortal words uttered by Jane Fonda..."No pain, no gain!"
