Story
I am running the Brighton Marathon in memory of my Dad, Richard Jenkin.
In August 2006, my dad was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour and given a life expectancy of 9 months. He underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment, but only to control the tumour rather than prevent it. After a year long battle, showing determination and grace, he passed away in August 2007 at home with his family around him.
My Dad was the most generous, loving, happy man and an huge inspiration to many. A great musician and sportsman. He encouraged me to achieve and would do anything for his family. I owe everything I have and will achieve to my Dad.
Having witnessed the first hand effects cancer has on families, and aware my Dad would want to know others would not suffer as he did, I am running the Brighton marathon for him.
Please spare as little or as much money as you want, in memory of my Dad. My best friend. Who I miss every day.
