My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
My mum and I plan to have our long hair cut and donated to the Little Princess Trust. This is a charity who make and provide wigs to children, both boys and girls, who have lost their hair primarily due to cancer treatment. Fully funded. Here are the details of their website;

A minimum of 7" is required, and we both have well over that to donate.
My mum and I have been growing our hair with the plan to donate it for over a year now. My mum wanted to donate her hair for the purpose of a wig to help cancer patients who had lost their hair due to treatment. We asked at our local hospital, and the Macmillan centre based there, but they were unsure of the procedure. After further research my mum found the Little Princess Trust website. I looked up this site, after suggesting that I also had my hair cut. I watched the video of a young girl's story, of losing her hair and receiving the wig. I cried, and cried, you even see her dad crying in the video upon her receiving the wig. I haven't had my hair short since I as a toddler, and although I'm sure I'll cry when it's cut I will only have to think of where it may be going to feel a whole lot better.
We are both desperate to help as much as we can so hope to also be able to raise some sponsorship money for this charity, and would like to make this an event rather than just a haircut.
Our local hairdressers Debra Christy on Hermon Hill E18, has offered to cut our hair and we are planning this for Saturday 26th May 2012. Please come along to support us, and so we can tempt you with a delicious cupcake!! Cupcake Avenue will be providing cupcakes for you to purchase. These will be decorated with the theme of The Little Princess Trust.
