My good friend Sarah died suddently in her sleep in June 2009. She was 37 and left a partner and their three young sons. She was beautiful, talented and had so much to live for.
At the funeral, I found out she had died of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) It is for this reason I am running for the associated charity, SADs UK which funds screening and raises awareness of this-little known disease.
Sarah was young, fit and healthy and I hope by doing this it could save the lives of other young, fit healthy people.
I've always been quite sporty, and having raised three of my own children, I now want to get back into my running and use this as a way of helping what could have been Sarah. I know she would have approved!
Many thanks
Laura
