Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
On 12 November 2010, I hope to fly out to Cambodia and take part in a 446km cycle ride in aid of the International Childcare Trust, or ICT. To do this, I need to raise a minimum of £3,000 - a prospect that I'm finding quite scary at the moment!!
International Childcare Trust is a small UK charity working in direct partnership with local organisations in Africa and Asia that protect children’s rights; such as their right to education and to a healthy, happy childhood. M’Lop Tapang is a Cambodian NGO, partnered with ICT, working with the street children of Sihanoukville. The goal of this project is to offer support, protection, positive choices and hope to street children and their families. They aim to reintegrate street children back to education, their families and their community, allowing them to lead happy and independent lives again.
As you may know, I have spent a little time out on that side of the world - I lived in South Korea after finishing university and although I didn't have the opportunity to visit Cambodia, I did visit Vietnam. The level of poverty in that area of the world shocked me. This is why I really appreciate every penny donated. Every child has the right to be happy, be educated, not be exploited and just be a kid! If the money I raise can bring that to just one person, I'll be happy.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you.
