The Chilly Pipers (DLA Piper)
'The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.'
'If you're going to be crazy, you have to get paid for it.'
Perhaps Hunter S Thompson in writing these words was somehow anticipating the dawn of the DLA Chilly Pipers.
Perhaps. What is certain is that whilst London's economy might be freezing over this red hot live band are set to storm the dangerous and decadent world of corporate law rock.
Brought to you by a cross section of DLA's most fast and furious the Chilly Pipers comprise of Charles 'the Shredder' Allin and Nick 'don't call me the Edge(Brooke)' Edbrooke on guitar. Harry 'the guv'nor' Brunt takes Bass and Vocals, with Kate Knox (Jazz and Funk Partner) on Keyboards and Vocals, with Dave 'the Spider' Webb holding it all together on drums. A double vocal treat comes in the form of the gorgeous tones of Ruth Henderson (putting the grrrrrrr back into HR) and the 'Greek Bowie' Dimitri Papaefstratiou. Lock up your daughters.
Think Amy Winehouse meets U2, think the Stones meets Cold Play, think stadium rock rolled with funk and with a dash of lyrical brilliance. Think "can they do it?"
