*** Update - a great big thank you to everyone who sponsored me on the ride. I was joined by Danny Young, a good friend to both me and Greg. We managed to finish the ride in a leisurely (!) 4 hours 59 mins. The last 2 miles were a nightmare - nothing left in the tank!! Lyn and Laura came to see us off at the start which was absolutely fantastic and gave us a bit extra at the start.

I am planning to take part in the Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride on the morning of 10 July. It is about 60 miles and should take 4-5 hours. Greg was a veteran of this ride and he had talked me into doing it too this year. After his sudden passing last year I decided to honour my commitment and raise some money for a charity close to Greg and his Family’s heart. Manchester Eye Hospital (represented by Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Charity) had treated Greg after an accident with a toy helicopter whilst playing with the kids. He was treated well and his family have supported the hospital ever since.
Greg was a passionate bike enthusiast and he would be so pleased to know that one of his hobbies was being carried out in such good spirits and for such a good cause. Please donate for a great man who is missed and loved by many.
