Projector Screen for the Leonard Sainer Day Care Centre
The Leonard Sainer day care centre provides support for those who have dementia and their carers. As you will know, remaining physically and mentally active can have a significant impact on a person's well-being and this is no different for people at the centre.
New technology such as the Nintendo Wii is a great way to provide older people that have dementia with a huge source of entertainment and a vital opportunity to maintain their cognitive and motor skills. It can provide a welcome distraction from the stresses of the illness such as Dementia and can help the person focus on the positive and fun aspects of life.
Using this technology means games like bowling; tennis and even boxing are made available to everyone. The intention is to play the games on a large projector screen to make it easier for those with visual impairments to participate and for everyone to enjoy at the same time Therefore I’d be grateful you could donate a small amount so that we can buy the centre a projector screen to give these people an opportunity to get active and have fun.
