Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Saturday 5th September, 2009 I will start walking Alfred Wainwright's famous Coast to Coast walk across this fine land.
I will start my journey at St Bees in Cumbria on the West Coast, walking through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Yorkshire Moors, before collapsing at Robin Hoods Bay on the East Coast some 192 miles and 15 days later. For any of you that wish to join me and Jon at the end, no doubt looking extremely tired, mines a vodka and diet coke!
Whilst raising money for charity is not the reason why I am doing the Walk, it seems a wasted opportunity not to do so.
For those of you who don't know, my nan is a sufferer of Age Related Macular Degeneration which affects the eyes giving her only peripheral vision. For someone who was so independent this is a debilitating condition. Research is being carried out constantly into this disorder for people already suffering from it and also for tests to cure or halt the condition before it becomes severe. There is also assistance and aid available for those who are sufferers.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Although I have set a target this is obviously only a target - the more the better!!!
