In a fit of insanity, my nurse Anne signed us up to leap off the top of Spinnaker Tower in the name of raising money and awareness for mesothelioma. As many of you know, I spend my days treating people with this cancer, thought to be due to asbestos exposure.  It is a pretty dismal disease, and those patients and families who have to live with it need a lot of support and advice.

All of my donations will be given to our local charity HASAG (Hampshire Asbestos Support and Awareness Group).  The women who run this charity provide an unbelievable, invaluable, free service to our patients.  I know them well, and they have been a massive support to our cancer service in Portsmouth. I can't tell you how much they help our patients and their families, and I have great faith that donations given to them are well spent on supporting local people with terrible disease.
