Thanks for visiting our Just Giving page.
Donations are in memory of our darling little angel Lilly, born sleeping at 26 weeks on 28th October 2009. Her post mortem confirmed that she was perfect, but she died due to placental failure.
The sadness that this happened to Lilly will never go away, and she will always be with us in our hearts.
We know all our family are as sad as we are; they were all so excited when we told them a new baby was on the way and now they have lost their grandchild or niece. We are so grateful for their love and support.
We now know we are not alone in grieving for a child we never knew. Unbelievably, statistics show that 1 in 200 pregnancies in the UK today result in stillbirth after 20 weeks - and now this has happened to us so many people have told us their own stories or of those close to them who have experienced a similar tragedy.
We will always think of Lilly but would like a special remembrance of her by making a charity donation at Christmas and around the time of her birthday.
From this page, family and friends can, if they wish, donate to Sands, who help support families affected by the death of a baby and promotes research and changes in practice that could help to reduce the loss of babies' lives.
"The little one we longed for, was swiftly here and gone.
But the love that was then planted, is a light that still shines on."
