Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last year I accidentally saw a documentary about the lost children of Zimbabwe, which followed the lives of four young children who were orphaned or about to be orphaned by Aids.  These young children (as young as 9) were living in squalor and all they wanted to do to have any hope was to go to school.  Heartbreaking.

Xoliswa Sithole who made the documentary in secret about the plight of the children said... "When kids can't dream... I think we can pretty much say goodbye to everything"

Zimbabwe's Lost Children - BBC 4

I have seen many documentaries on Africa before, but this brought me to tears and vowed that I would do anything I could do help these kids.  My own kids have looked at the programme and were moved to tears as well.

A small, local charity has worked with the documentary makers -   "Jessica's House" is named after Jessica Smith who died in a tragic accident in 2007, aged just 22, the eldest daughter of Jubilee Campaign's founder, Danny Smith.

After visiting Zimbabwe, she was deeply inspired by the spirit of the people and the need that she saw there.  It was her greatest desire to do something to make a difference for the people she had grown to love.  Jessica's family and friends have determined she still will, and have united to complete her unfulfilled dreams to bring real change for Zimbabwe's Aids orphans.

I want to join in and help to make a difference, so I am running the Virgin London Marathon in April to raise money for these charity, who are building houses and a community for these children.

ALL the monies donated will go straight to the charity, nothing will be taken for administration.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
