I started running properly about 5 months ago. At that time I was barely able to run 1/2 mile without needing to walk for a period of time (normally a long period of time!). Gradually the walking ceased as the training continued and that original 3 mile circuit is now a 24 minute warm up lap. As the weeks went by the mileage grew to 4, then 5.4, 6, 6.5, 7.5, 8.5 and, most recently, 10. Only 3.1 miles short of the finish line!I am training to run the 13.1 miles in less than 2 hours and, conditions permitting, nearer 1h50. I hope that my continued work and effort will encourage as many donations as possible to this worthwhile charity.
I aim to keep regular updates on this page as to my progress.

11/10 - after about 6 weeks off running due to an operation I returned to the roads today and aimed for 10.5 miles. It was not without its challenges and proved to be extremely difficult. But, with 3 weeks to go I had little choice but to get back to training and go for it! Hopefull a shorter mid week run will help my confidence...
