Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
"Are you crazy?", "How many days will it take?", "How many miles?"
These are just some of the questions I have been asked since deciding to take up the challenge of completing an Ironman and funnily enough the same ones I have asked myself - many times!!
The Ironman consists of swimming 2.4 miles, cycling 112 miles and running a marathon, 26 miles, and I hope to complete the full distance in around 12 hours - just don't hold me to it!
In the last few months many of you have taken an interest in my challenge, asked questions about the training, the event and then which charity I am raising money for. Initially I hadn't thought about requesting charity donations but knowing people who have benefited from the services of the Air Ambulance I am fully aware of the fantastic work that they do and that they are completely funded by donations.
Warwickshire Air Ambulance has operated out of Coventry Airport for the last five years and flies around 130 missions every month, each one costing in the region of £1000. The service does not receive any Government or Lottery funding and relies totally on donations to support its 30 doctors and paramedics and six pilots.
Every penny counts and your sponsorship will be greatly appreciated - THANK YOU!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
