Sussex Beacon Half Marathon 2010 · 21 February 2010 ·

First Touch supports sick and premature babies cared for at St George’s neonatal unit in SW London. We fund state-of-the-art equipment and specialist staff training which are outside of the scope of NHS budgets, as well as a range of initiatives to support families during their stay on the unit.

Story

In February 2004, the neonatal team at St George's saved my son Dylan's life when he was born at 29 weeks weighing 1lb 15oz. When I read that they were trying to raise £40,000 for new neonatal cots, I decided to try and give something back so they can carry on providing fantastic care for other premature and poorly babies.

I will be running the Sussex Beacon Half Marathon in February, and to spur me on I would love for everyone I know to just give £1 or whatever they can afford, so that I can help with the fundraising effort. I promise to train hard and complete the run (the longest I have done) and your encouragement is keeping me motivated, thank you!

Dylan is now a healthy five year old thanks to the fundraising efforts of others - now it's my turn!
